Our History
Founded in 1969
PEAK Alarm Company was founded in 1969 by the original expert in security solutions, Jerry D. Howe.

In the 50+ years since then, Mr. Howe’s vision has grown into one of the largest independent security agencies in the United States.

UL Certification
UL Certification of alarm services provides a connection of confidence between owners, service providers and other stakeholders including authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), insurance companies and government agencies. We assess alarm companies for their ability to install, maintain, test, inspect, monitor and communicate with proper authorities and provide runner service.
The Monitoring Association (TMA)
The Monitoring Association (TMA), formerly Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), is an internationally-recognized non-profit trade association that represents professional monitoring companies that are listed by a CSAA-approved Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, such as FM Approvals, Intertek/ETL or UL. TMA is legally entitled to represent its members before Congress and regulatory agencies on the local, state and federal levels, and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) over the industry. Since its incorporation in 1950, TMA has served its members’ interests through education, online training, meetings and conventions, certification, insurance, and industry standards.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is a global nonprofit organization, established in 1896, devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards.
The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) is an organization that was established in 1961 to create a recognized certification for engineering technicians and technologists within the United States.
Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL)
Fred Johnson, Chief Financial Officer of Peak Alarm & Security, is the chairman of the Alarms Systems Security Licensing Board.
